2. Hosting and server log files #

This website runs on a dedicated root server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany), on which the virtual machine, operating system and web server are set up and administered directly by us — Hetzner provides the physical hardware and data-center infrastructure only. A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR, Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) is in place with Hetzner covering their role in that regard.

Every request to this site is recorded in a server access log, containing:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of the request
  • The page/file requested and the response status code
  • Referring URL, if any
  • Browser/user-agent string

This is standard web server behavior needed to operate the site reliably and securely (detecting and responding to abuse, diagnosing errors) and is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in the technical operation and security of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are retained for 14 days and then automatically deleted, and are not combined with any other data source or used to build individual visitor profiles.

3. Cookies, local storage and tracking #

This site does not use cookies, does not run any analytics or tracking scripts, and does not embed any third-party content (fonts, ads, social widgets) that would load resources from — or send data to — another server.

The only client-side storage used is the browser’s localStorage, to remember your light/dark theme preference. This value never leaves your device, is not read by us, and is not a cookie in the legal sense — no consent banner is shown because there is currently nothing here that requires one.

The search feature on this site runs entirely in your browser against a locally-loaded index. No search query is ever transmitted to any server.

5. Contact #

This site does not currently offer a contact form, newsletter signup, comment system, or account creation — so no personal data is collected through any of those.

6. Your rights under the GDPR #

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority depends on where the responsible entity is registered — Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD).

7. No international data transfers #

All data described above is processed on infrastructure located in Germany. This site does not currently transfer any data to servers outside the EU/EEA.
